O. Claire, the sla ter of Daniel H. Walters, who with his wife, is held on their confes sion of arson and degenerate nets, . offering to take the fou;- children of the couple, providing the sher iff's office would assure their safe arrival in Washington, Kansas. Whether the offer will bo accepted or the children sent to a tate in stitution will be decided by the court Monday, when the parents come up for their hearing. The four, pretty little youngsters, ranging in age from 8 to 2 years, are playing today in the front yard of J. K. Daniels, court house jani tor, where they are staying -with their mother until after the hearing Monday. They are, happily, too (juns to understand the revolting spectre which forced them out of their rightful home. The! suggestion lhat it would he hard to ' part with the children brought only a faint response from the mother.! E WORLD'S SERIES liasehall fans of Ihe city and southern Oregon will he regaled again this year, as they have for 17 years past, by the Mail Trib une's report of the world series baseball games, which start next Thursday in the homo city of the American league winners. A play-by-play report of tho games, over tho wires of the As sociated Press, will be furnished, the service Including the reading and posting of tho inning-by-inning reports, in front of tho Mail Tribune office on North Fir street. Details of the broadcasting of tho reports over KMED are now being worked out. The reports will start each morn ing during the series, between 10 and iu:30 o'clock, Medford time. Tho schedules in both the Na tional and American leagues end next Sunday, and the race in both circuits is so close that a winner will not, be known In cither, much before that day.
