PA'GB EIGHT SIEDFORD MAIL TRIBUNE, IWEDFORD, OKFlOX. TrFSDAY. JULY IT. 192-. G Once There Was a Steer that went all over the world. But not until after the meat was prepared for market. The fine hair in its ears went to Paris to be used in an artist's "camel's hair" brush. The shin bones went to Shef field, England, where they became knife handles that were carried in men's pockets to South Africa and London. The sinews and tendons went to Canada and Mexico first boiled down into glue used in the manufacture of furniture. Every part of this steer went somewhere and was used even tiny glands no bigger than peas went to pharmaceutical houses to be made into medicine. The farmer who raised this steer was glad to sell it to Swift & Company for a good cash price. If he had prepared it for market himself, it would not have been worth somuch. Besides the meat, he could have saved only the hide and fats. All the rest of the steer would have been lost. Swift & Company handles thousands of animals daily and uses every part of them. Econ omy results. You benefit by it. Swift & Company's profit from all sources amounts to only a frac tion of a cent per pound Swift & Company Medford pram h, 13th and From Sr. F. J'hey gradually ascend in note to a rhythmic purr and break into a smooth continuous roar as the giant Sunkist logging caterpillars emerge, bringing their awkward burdens of the day to the box factories. Here, in the lumbering operations around Hilt and Susanville, I inion non-detonating gasoline is used exclusively and in lank tar quantities. Sunkist now correctly known as the California Fruit Growers I'.xchange, is considered the most successful co-operative growers' organization in the world, l I ,ooo grower members utilize its facilities. Sales totaled f 1 10,000,000 last vear. 2,500,000,000 oranges marked " S U N K I S T " were consumed in iQ2- This great organization has "success-tested" Union non-detonating gasoline in the rigid outdoor laboratory of the West's mountainous lumber country. What S ucccss Tested" Means to You Ol course you can't give the gasoline you use a laboratory test, but the great institutions who do check results for mileage and power can be your yardsticks. These firms have "service- testnl gasoline. They arc successful firms. They notonlv use Union tor its briiliant pi-Hormancc, but for its absolute uniformity.
