curb market unsettled prices on
the New Vork stock exchange to
day. Kxtreme declines in the active
issues ranged from one to nearly
six points, with only a few Issues
showing independent stre n g t h.
Trading was unusually small as
compared with recent half-holiday
sessions, the day's sales aggregat
ing only about 630. 000 shares.
Pierce Arrow preferred which
scored a sharp advance yesterday
un reports that merger negotia
tions with Studcbnker were n ear
ing completion, ran up another
seven points today to a new 1928
high at 2'i. IiCledc Oas which
sold as low an 207 earlier In the
uock. f oared more than fourteen
points to 234 i .
Adams Kxpress, DuPont. Amer
ican International and Curtlss sold
off three to four points. Scores of
others declined a point or two
