Pic nic lunch was furnished by the mothers, and ice cream by the Parent-Teacher association. Games and contests occupied the after noon. School will close officially on Monday noon, with the bestowal of grades and cardH. Pythian Sisters Carol Party Thursday. Owing to th weather on Thurs day, the card party and dance given by the Pythian Sisters, in the Knights of Pythias hall on that date, was not largely attended, but n good time was had and the com mittee wishes to thank those who have so generously contributed to ward the success of the semi monthly parties during the winter nnd spring. Girl Scouts Honor Mn, Belcher The Medford Girl Scouts of Troop 1 and 2 are giving a fare well party for Mrs. Belcher, cap tain of Troop No. 1, Friday eve ning, June 1, in the Presbyterian church parlors. All mothers of Girl Scouts will attend with their daughters, and a most pleasant time Is in store. An Interesting program under the direction of Mrs. 1). J. Willson, captain of Troop No. 2. Is being prepared and will begin at 8:00 o'clock. Punch and wafers will be served during the evening by patrol lead ers of both troops who will act as hostesses on this occasion. Alford will again have chaise of the financial welfare of the club, this being her nineteenth year as treasurer. Mrs. Williams' two years as president have been particularly successful nnd pleas ant nnd this meeting at her home and the visit to her beautiful flow er garden was Indeed a treut. Numerous expressions of ap preciation and praise were voiced by all present, nnd there seemed to be a unanimous desire for more of this type of entertain ment. Their execution of the two numbers was professional and v.l mlttedly so by visiting critiques of the art. Correct execution and technique means so much to a dancer, especially when It Is coupled with personality, all of which these clever children have developed, under the guidance and experienced training of Mrs. Eve Benson.. "The Peasant and Her First Doll" wun a complete work of art In dancing and pantomime, by Janet Reed nnd Doreen Leverutte. These numbers, performed on the terrace, with the art'stic home and lovely flowers for a back ground, added to their novelty. 44 Girl ScoiitM Hold May Court of Awards The Girl Scouts held their "May Court of Awards" Friday evening at Scout headquarters, nt which time a number of girls came up for advancement. Field certainly knows Ibis nnd it has become a time-honored custom among the Presbyterian Indies for Mrs. Field to be hostess In straw berry time. Each member of this big class looks forward to Mrs. Fields' month as hostess. All four class es are taught by Mr. Kecsee. Science Classes Finish Work Tho science classes have finish ed their work for Ihe year. Three books were made In these classes: One of leaves, one of birds, and one. of flowers. The more ad vanced classes mode two of flow ers, some of tho bonks containing as many ns sixty specimens.
