LONOVIEW, Wash.. April 12.
(JP) Claudia Babb, 17, died lato
last night from injuries received
in an automobile accident Sunday,
and half an hour later Floyd Watt,
driver of the car. was arrested,
charged with second degree man
slauhter on complaint of the girl's
father, H. 1. Habb. Ho charged
that the girl's death was due to
fast and reckless driving. Watt
was held in the county jail, bis
bonds being set at $DO00.
Watt had been arrested earlier
in the evening on a vagrancy
charge, and released by posting
$1000 bail. Watt is a yomi mar
ried man with a 5-year-old daugh
ter. He was returning from Port
land at 5:30 o'clock Sunday morn
ing when his car crashed. .Miss
Eabh was thrown out and dragged,
receiving inlet nal injuries, frac
tured pelvis bone and very severe
cuts and bruises. Watt said be
was forced off the hlghwuy by an
other car.
