Next Sunday, November 29, there will he a Thanksgiving service at the schoolhouso. There will he an all day meeting, Sunday school In the forenoon and preaching after dinner. Come and bring yotir dinner and en joy the social hour, as well as the service with the people. Subject for Sunday school, "Paul Before Agrlppa." Memory verse, 'l was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision." Mr. Silencer, engineer of the Eagle Point-Hutte Falls irrigation district, and Frank Hrown and VY. K. Ham mond, the two directors, and several prominent men from the chamber of commerce, went to Salem Monday evening to meet with the state board on Tuesday in regard to irrigation matters. Miss Creb visited at H. Wntklns' one evening last week. Mrs. C. E. Bellows' sister and 'hus band. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jones of NVeed. Oil., visited at C. E. Bellows' last week. Edward Bellows returned home with them, expecting to work in or near Weed this winter. Amos Ayres, wife . and children, visited nt W. E. Hammel's Sunday. Mrs. WatklnB was quite sick for a few days but is much improved. Mrs. C. U, Cummons visited Mrs. Watklns one duy. l: ' , Mr. Yost, the McNeBs man, was around in this vicinity last week. Some of the stockholders of the Eagle Point Free Ferry Telephone company are working on the line this week transferring it from the old county road to the highway; conse quently if is hard to hear over the line this week, but they expect to have it completed by Saturday night. Thanksgiving will be spent quite commonly by the relatives and friends of different families gathering nt the several homes, where there will be feasting and family reunions. Next Sunday morning Rev. R. W. 1 Nelson will preach on the theme, "Pushing back the Horizon." In the evening the Christian Endeavorers will present "The. Northwest Passage" ill song and story. ' . Tho schools closed Wednesday after noon for the Thanksgiving holidays, Thursday anil Friday. A Thanksgiving program given Wednesday afternoon by the grades and high school in the school audi torium was attended by several of the mothers who had children In school. Principal Avard Whitman was the guest of Mrs. Williams of Medlord on Thanksgiving day. A number of Phoenix people at tended the Ashland-Medford game Thursday. Mis.
