A rellgioUB quiet ucttJcil down over thia orange bolt city today as partlcl imnts in yesterday's near riot at the Kirst Christian- church prepared to hift the scene of their conflict to San liernardino, the county seat, where opponents of the Kev. It. Glenn Ed wards, formerly of Yuma, Ariz., hoped to obtain the assistance of, law on torcement otfielnls in their efforts to oust him from the pulpit. Sunday morning: services were thrown into an uproar yenterdny when Garner O. Osdick,.. son-in-law of Jus tice G. G. Mclver, leader of the forces opposing Edwards, arose from his pew us the pastor began to speak. Reminding the congregation that at ft meeting: last Friday Mr. Edwarun "had been voted out of the pulpit by 1-13 members,'1 Osdick inquired point edly of the clergyman whether he in tended to bow to the will of the 143. The pastor replied that he did not, explaining that since there are 415 members of the church the will of the 143 was but the will of a minority. His remarks were made with diffi culty after shouts of "throw him out," "Hit down," "let him speok" und the singing of "Nearer My God to Three," by the choir. One of the few women prosent,at the services which were ex pected to be stormy in view of a month long clash of factions favoring and opposing the retention of Edwards as pastor, attempted to quell the tumult- by hastening to the pulpit and, with her hand on the Bible, appealing for peace. t Her voice was lost in a sea of shoutlngr, hoots and catcalls. Quiet came eventually when about 100 members walked out of the church in "a peaceful demonstra tion." Later Osdick ' announced he and other members of his faction would go to San Bernardino today, "to seek a criminal complaint against the pas tor." and the three elders, charging them with disturbing a religious meet ing. Ho alleged that Edwards and his supporters by "invading" tho church after tho pastor had been "de posed," were to blame for tho result ant uproar. KING TUT'S BODY LITERALLY MASS OF RARE JEWELS CAIRO, Nov.- 10. (A. P.) -J-The treasures found In the tomb of the boy king. Tut-Ankh-Amen. soon will bo brought to tho Cairo museum for exhibition. Moanwbllo as they are being finished the tomb will bo cuosed to visitors. Ths evidence thus far adduced through a ninepection of the mummy In Its coffin of gold tends to show thnt It Is of a male, not yet on adult and that when death enmc tho person was greatly emaciated. Tho mummy was not resioved from Its case, but Instead the wrappings about It were cut through from the mask to the feet. Owing to tho fraglno condition of tho wrappings, tho greatest care .had to bo exercises, ' During the work a large number of Interesting and beautiful obpects wore brought to view. Tho ministry of works here says that both forearms of the mummy were loaded with mag nificent Jewess. Other objects brough to light were armulets and collarettes. A superb gold dagger with 'a srystal handle, bracelets of Intricate work manship and finger rings of divers materials. Another dagger also was found und several large Inlaid orna ments, beads anl circlets. On each ankle of Tut-Ankh-Amen wero golden circles and on each toe, each finger, a golden stall. Only the lower part of the body nnd the limbs of the phnrnoh had been exposed to the view of the workers. In the tomb last Friday and the operation Is f such a delicate nnture'thnt further progress will be alow. As soon as possible, the objects wdofnnd wi be cleaned nnd restored, after which they will be brought here and placed o nexhlbltlon. Tlio Abnormal Menace.
