For nearly eight hours yesterday,
MIhs Emanuel In whose home Felt was
found mortally wounded with a bullet
In his brain on the night of September
29, sat between two guards In the
coroner's office and listened to the
testimony of a score of witnesses. She
fainted twice. Her aeeond collapse
came at the end of the day when the
foreman of the county jury announc
ed that It found that Felt "died at the
hands of a person or persons un
known to this jury.'
Assistant District Attorney Kelley
announced he would apply for a new
warrnnt charging Miss Emanuel with
suspicion of- murder.
Fred Felt testified he had met his
brother by appointment, found Miss
Emanuel with him nnd thut the girl
had threatened to ."knock off" Mau
rice If he refused to pay her a sum of
money.

AFTER ROBBERY
ROSEBURO, Ore., Oct. 20. The
destruction of the W. P. Rupprecht
general merchandise store at Yoncalla
by fire yesterday morning followed a
robbery In the store, in the opinion of
Sheriff Starmer, who Returned last
night after a thorough Investigation.
Evidence obtained from an Inspection
of the ruins, the sheriff says, indicates
that tho store was robbed and was
then set on fire. One fire was started
near the rear door and another near
the front 'of the building. The Yon
calla fire department' had a difficult
time In checking the blae and pre
venting its spread to adjoining struc
tures. The building and goods were
practically a total loss and only a
small amount of insurance was car
ried.
