Senators today seemed well on their
way to their second consecutive
world's baseball ohamplotiHhip as a
result of Walter Johnson's spectacular
shutout of the Pittsburg Pirates ypH

ministers this week Is expected to he
taken up by an Inquiry into Prime
Minister Gaillaux's stutenient regard
ins, his recent debt funding negotia
tions in Washington.
M. Culllaux who relumed to Paris
Saturday evening yesterday handed
his report to the cabinet and with
other ministers discussed the situa
tion for three hours. Tomorrow the
ministers will again take up tho ten
tative agreement arrived at in Wash
ington. It la their opinion that all
possible consequences ought to be
thoroughly threshed out before
France's reply Is sent the Washington
government.
During his talk with the ministers

length to "the conditions of Internal
policy which deterrmlned the opinion
of the American politicians in power."

vary but it has been ascertained that
a big boulder, weighing about four
tons, rolled down an embankment
and onto thetrack. breaking the heavy
rail on the right hand side of the

walker had passed the spot on his in
spection trip shortly before the wreck
occurred.
The engine and five cars left the

what disheartened by the 0 to 0 de
feat at the hands of the University
of Idaho here Saturday, the Univer
sity of Oregon football team today Is
setting about grimly to pull itself to
gether to dril for the coming game
with the University of California in
Portland on October 24.
Next Saturday the Oregon men will
face Pacific on the local field. It will
give the Webfooters a chance to
smooth out the rough spots so clearly
brought out by Idaho and will give
them the added advantage of a not
too hard game In preparation for the
California men.
The whole determination of the
Oregon team this year has been to
beat or hold to a tie the touted Call
fornlans. That determination, though
a little dimmed by the Idaho defeat,
is still hovering around the Webfodt
camp.
