Every visitor from abroad marvels at tho fart that the county seat of the nmnty is located off the only roll 'road- in the county away from the,, l.uslness center of tho county and at ' a point thnt Is Inconvenient for prac thally alt the people of tho county. Tho county court house Is the place where the business of the county isthe GnUnecan Christ, and tho Apos conducted end during the course of a year practically every citizen of the county who is transacting any busi ness at all has occasion to use it. ' K very one has recognized thnt it la only a question of time until the county seat would bo removed to Mwlford. The time for removal has now ar rived. The present county court house Is entirely inadequate for the neods of the county. Every avail-1 man relationship or condition or issue able foot of space in the building untouched by tho prophets, tho Christ hi beinfr utilized. The county has or the Apostles, wo do not d.Hcovor already found tt necessary to seek 'it. The business of the problems, conditions or issues which county has grown to a point where directly or indirectly include or in- it is necessary either to build a new court house or to build an addition lo the present building at a large expense. It would be the rankest folly for the people of the county lo compel the county court to incur (his targe expenditure by withhold in from th nm,rf th n.ithoritv to meet the situation as it should be met. To Tno Cnristian statesman. -levy sufficient taxes in one year toi . build a new court house would bet Impractical. The cost of a court house ' should - be spread out overt' several years. Therefore quarters for a temporary court house in Med ford are necessary. Hence the re- quest that tho city of Mocirortt pro-1 vide these temporary, quarters for(to a punuu ot live years io Kve uw county court time to accumulate fund- with "which to construct a new building. No other means of handl ing the situation are available, It is only rair that Mecirord in tnis crisis should do something substan- Hut to .meet this situation because.. the location of the county seat herej will result In practical advantages toe obvious to require enumeration to every business Institution In the city. It Is therefore proposed that Med-I ford Issue $50,000 In bonds for the' purpose of erecting a building which can be used temporarily for county court house purposes and later can ho converted Into a new city hall, which tho city will soon urgontly re- qutrft. I The net cost to Med ford In tho end v.-IU he negligible because the present quarters occupied by tho city hall are becoming more and more valu-j uhlo as business property and caa later be sold for sufficient to nav the1 bulk of the bonds proposed to bo Issued.
