will be played at the Holly street
grounds Haturiliiy afternoon at 2:30.

played on the new grounds, one

"The Lost World," which opened ut
Hunt's Craterian today, as it gives in
teresting data regarding tho pre-hia-toric
monsters.
The curnivorous beast that wars on
Its fellows is a tyrannausarus, one of
the dinosaur family, and weight, when
fully grown. 75,000 pounds. It could
look over a four story building, walks
on the hind feet ami has short forc
paws for tearing its victims.
First of these prehistoric monsters
in the picture is tho Ptcrodaclyle, a
creature that flies, the spread of its
wings equalling the spread of a scout
warplane. It was the scavenger of
the Jurassic period. The brontosaur
us, known as the "thunder" reptile,
takon away captive by the explorers,
that demolishes ' London bridge and
escapes to the sea in tho picture. Is
believed to have- weighed 150,000
pounds. It was herbivorous and lived
In marches. The armored animal Is a
stegosarus, Its plates three feet high,
and it had horns in Its tail with which
it disemboweled its enemies.

One of the best vaudeville hills In'
weeks was presented at Hunt's Crate
rian last night, to the usual packed
house. The show lived up to advance
notices, and waa snappy and enter
taining. Fox and Sarno were the
best pair of gymnaststs seen here this
year, and the Ginger Bread Hcvue
was a fast moving nnd clever song
ami dance uffalr. There was not a
dull number on the program, Austin
and Arnold, phonograph record ar
tists found high favor with the au
diences. Munch and Joy opened with a
better than tho average musical act.

ferences between Premier Baldwin
and the miners' federation executive
yesterday and today ocr the dis
pute between tho miners nnd ope
rators failed to bring , any agree -mcnt.
The federation "has decided
to call a. nationul conference of
miners' delegates. Tho situation is
described as serious.

have been Issued for 21 persons to
appear as witnesses for tho state in
tho trial of Tom Murray, Kllsworth
Uelley and James AVlllus, who es
caped from tho state penitentiary
August 12 after killing J. M.Hol
man and John Sweeney, two guards.
The trials begin with tho Murray
hearing on October 5. All three of
the convicts uto accused of first de
gree murder.
