in severul districts, several new forest
fires in Oregon uud Washington have
broken out and several which fighters
had hoped to control several days ago

the Silver Falls Timber company, near

was started hy a spark from an engine

In addition bad fires have broken'

cording to reports, and none was
under control, according to lost ad
vices. Just how extensive the damage
from these fires Is has not been
learned.

around their complete holdings to keep
the fires within check If possible. -
The logging crews of the company
are all still working fighting fires. .
WENATCHEE, Wash., Aug. 6 The
orchard and home of John Dickie of

over last year, nnd Is not considered,
to have nny great value so far as
the timber is concerned.

John M. Miller, former Internal rev
enue officer who accompanied Llnds
ley on . the Investigation, said that
"while the charges were not abso
lutely unfounded, they were greatly
exaggerated."
Most of the farmers questioned said

chicken yards had been blamed upon
the eagles.
