the water Mondays, Wednesdays and
Fridays, from 5 a. m. until 10 a. ni.
and from 5 p. m. until 10 p. m. even
ings. Sunday from 5 a. m. to 10 a. m.
The same hours prevail in the lower

who are metered, or to those under the
'ditch from the Talent Irrigation com

that the -consumption of . water has
doubled In Ashland In the last ten
years. The Increased usage Is attribu

household conveniences. The figures
show that ther are 40,000 gallons of
water used 1y ach person In Ashland
b per year, around 100 gallons a da,
which are rather astonishing figures.
There is plenty of water, it is stated,
but to Insure these the condition ob

regulations were made.

An unusual set' of slides were shown
In assembly Thursday morning.- The
set belongs to the work, in geography,
and wore primarily inteded for that
" class, but the other classes were in
. vlted to share the pleasant hour with
them The set of .pictures portrayed
: "Blue Monday", in every land and
ij gave' Interesting glimpses of how the
: other maintains the admonition "that
cleanliness is next to Godliness." It
all looked very romantic, but the on
' lookers were more than ever convinced
: that the labor saving, time saving de
vices of modern America were more
i satisfactory to the Individual. How
; ever the way of washing in the differ
ent countries was not the only thing
to be learned from the slides. They
furnished a wonderful opportunity to
teach other things than Just tho modus
operandi of cleaning clothes.
At today's assembly the eighth
grade commencement for a number
occurs. An Interesting program is
promised. Today closes a must suc
cessful summer term, with the largest
attendance In Its hlstor yslnco Its es
tablishment In Ashland. The weather
with a few days exception, has been
kind. ' The corps of Instructors have
made the work especially alive and the
Interest has. kept up exceptionally
well. Regret Is expressed on every
hand that the term is over. Many are
' leaving for distant homes today, others
leave tomorrow, while still others will
.take advantage of the opportunity to
visit some of southern Oregon's beauty
places before going to their homes.
