William Hyde Irwin, son of Will Irwin, the author and heir-to one-1 sixth of the million dollar estate of his aunt. Mrs. Elizabeth Augusta Bix ler, wants funds from the estate to continue his studies at Stanford uni versity but the administrators of tho. estate think the youth should go to j work on the Union Island ranch in the San Joaquin valley which is part ! of the Bixlei" holdings. I Differences between tho adminis trators and the legatee were aired In the superior court here yesterduy when Irwin told tho court that he didn't believe he. would develop him self according to his plans if he took hold of the Blxler ranch. Charles C. Mcintosh, and Samuel J. Hamilton, administrators of the estate testified they believed young Irwin should obtain u first hand working knowledge of tho ranch property in stead of doing post-graduate work at Stanford and therefore they had re fused to advance funds. Under tho tennis of the will Irwin received $1400 a year until he was gradulitcd from Stanford recently. The executors were authorised under the will to fmnlsh such further sums as they deemed neaeaMtry. Judge E. P.
