Rev. Lawrence Introduced the speaker by saying- have a man of God from Los Angeles who hns a direct mes sage for'the people of Medford." ' The Los "Angeles lawyer, who Is spending his vacation in the Rogue River valley preaching the gospel of salvation, then quoted from the- words of Jemis when the Man of Galilee said ''Consider the lilies of the field; how they grow; they toll not neither do they spin, yet I say unto you that Solo mon in all his glory was not arraged like one of these." "You are afraid you will lose your position. You are afraid you will fail In business and you are afrnld of grow ing old and being pennileHS,M said the evangelist. "Why do you fear? What is your excuse for not trusting the Lord and claiming his promises. - I'll tell you just why you fail to live in-the fullness of God's love. 1 - - . "Lecturers lour the country teach' Ing psychology. They tell you to think constructive ' thoughts and they em phasize the I am.- That is alright. Hindu philosophers have taught that. I have lectured on' psychology and it has done a great deal of good. ' But in stead of the personal equation let God be the one on whom you ' rely for strength. ' 'My book on The Key to Success has been recognized by the University of California and other universities and it has done much to help. But It was not until I realized that all power comes from God and that the Mind of God Is the source of all power that my book became one of the biggest sellers in its department. ? "When the church people of Med ford get together and realize that It is 'not by might, nor power, nor by my spirit salth the Lord," then they will come into their own and a great re vival will be started in Medford and will sweep through the Rogue River valley." ' : . , Evangelist Jones spoke last night to one of the largest crowds that has ever attended a meeting in the Cal vation Army hall. There were a number- of conversions and plans were made for a mass meeting of .all the churches and al the citizens of Med ford to be held in Salvation Army hall Tuesday night. The address Is to be given by Attorney Jones and he will tell some of the experiences gained on are 'Oregon sheep ranch near Prine vllle where the American Legion con vention is to be , held this coming months. ' 'Ministers of Medford are to unite in a.plan this week to begin a mighty re vival of religion here. They realize that an - exceptional advantage has been offered because of the visit of Attorney Jones and Bert Smith, Los Angeles newspaper man. The details of the plan may be announced follow ing the meeting on Tuesday night. It is Bald' that there Is a decided and definite movement on the part of the church people of Medford to begin a revival. - . The meetings wiuld be union meet ings with all of the churches and with the Salvation Army cooperating to at tract city wide attention to the revi val. It is proposed then to hold mass meetings In Grants Pass and ItvSalem, Eugene and at Portland if the plans now formulating are carried out In de tain " : Novelty Vaudeville BUI for Tuesday .f . to ff ills : 0r fV- c"" '"3 'Vv-;t'v v:m- Foley &t Bur,kes combined shows ar rived In Medford early this mornlng'in their special train and will be open on the lot opposite the S. PEOPLE URGED TO BUY TICKETS FOR THE PAGEANT "For the last time," said a pageant promoter this morning, "1 want to call attention to our sale of Patron tickets which opens today, and try to Impress upon our friends the neces sity of a quick responuo. This for two reasons: one, we are going .to discon tinue thiH sale just as "soon as we get enough subscriptions to cover our budget (If we do),-and secondly this pledge sale is absolutely necessary to enable us to go on- with our plans for the pageant. i "We have everything ready to shoot now, but if we should fail to get the response from the'public that we ex pect, it would indicate a lack of inter est In the pageant that would cause us to halt our plans, for It would be very poor business to try to go on with a show that didn't appeal to any considerable-number of our 'people. If they really want a pageant this yoait, surely our plans that save 16 2-3 per cent on the price of tickets ought 'to pull big. You'knDW these tickets are $5.00;' and entitle the holder, to $6.00 worth of seats: they are transfcrrablo and good any-' performance. -.' Five people can-go in together and get one of these tickets which will give them four $1. GO hox seats or six $1.00 seats. These tickets are on- Bale f today.
