While there Mrs. Kim bail went over from Dallas to Port land and spent the week end with her daughter, Mrs. K. Sutherland. The party were accompanied on the return trip by Mr. Kimball's sister, Mih. Mary Thompson of Dallas, who will visit here for some time. Mrs. J. U. Hmlth has been on the sick list for the past two weeks, hav ing had an attack of the flu, followed by a Revere case of stomach and liver trouble, but Is much Improved at present, we ore Kind to learn. The other two members of her class only falling In one and two studies each, will take them attain this week. Smith, Sam nnd Halph Duwn horry wore home from Friday till Monday from the Morgan saw mill near Trail where they are employed. The heavy rain made It Impossible to haul either logs or lumber. A good many took advantage of the two days holiday Memorial day and Sunday for n little vacation trip. Among them were Mr. ami Mrs. II. II. Klhart. Mr. nnd Mrs. Mrie Werin and John Higgs of Ashland, who drove down Saturday afternoon and from here were accompanied by Mrs. P. L. Watt on a trip to the Oregon Caves. Owing to the hard rain that evening they were forced to camp about seven miles this side of the Caves, and went on Sunday morning, returning lo their homes the same evening. All were delighted with the trip in spite of the mud and rain. Mrs. Nina Dusonberry has Iteen confined to her bed for the past two weeks with the mumps, having taken ;o Id with them causing n bad case of stomach and liver trouble. She is Improving some now under the care of Dr. Chlsholm of Gold 11111. Mrs. Hose llrlggs anil family who liave been thinning fruit at the Del Rio orchards finished work there on Wednesday of this week. The Community club gave one of thofr popular dnnces at the hall Sat urday night, the first they have bad since before Christmas. They report a good crowd, and a good time. Altho quite a few of the club members were unable to attend on account of sickness. Ulllf APPLEGA1E Lottie.
