Yesterday's op price was around $3 a' on fie. Today's prices range from ?! 75 for MarshallH to $2.25 for Improved Oregon. Home funcy stock is going at' $2.75 a case. Stronger demand for berries 's ex pected by the end of this week. May 26 is the effective date of the new law of the Oregon logisla ture requiring grading and mm-king of eggs offered for sale, according to J. D. Micklo, state dairy and food commissioner, who says thu new law embodies the main features of the egg ruling which he promulgated last year. Discussing the chief requirements of the new law. Commissioner Micklo says: "Grading of all eggs into . four classes is required, viz: Fresh stand ard, eggs . weighing not less than one and flvo-sixths ounces; fresh medium eggs, and fresh eggs weigh ing not less than one and seven twelfths ounces; fresh undersize eggs, any fresh egg weighing less than one nnd seven-twelfths ounces and under grade eggs, which class includes all edible eggs not good enough to-class an fresh. The new law' does not mention storage or processed eggs, but per mits all eggs to go onto the market, according to their grade and merit. C. OF C. 10 GET BEND SECRETARY B12ND, Ore. May 26. I-lncoln An ties, who has been secretary of the Bend commercial club for four and a half years, has resigned to accept a similar position with tho Hoseburg chamber of commerce. Antles came to Bend from Denver and had previously been secretary of the commercial club at Grand Junc tion. Colo. I,. K. Crumb, recently of Klamath Falls, was last night appointed sec retary of tho Bend commercial club at a special meeting of tho board of directors. He will tako over the work hero at once. The bird house contest closes Sat urday, May 30th. Entires will be re ceived all this week. Six of the most useful and artistic will be chosen to hang In headquarters, others will be sold to people wishing to use them to attract birds to their gardens. A nuni ber of people, have spoken for bird . houses and the scouts are hoping to be able to fill all orders.. Troop 5, A. U. Headquarters has had inquirers from Gold Hill and Grants Pass this week, In regard to registering troops in those towns, it is stated that troops are al ready formed and will apply for char tor under the Crater Lake council. In the afternoon on Saturday, Mem orial Day, Scouts will go on a trip, the destination of which is a mystery, all who go will take one meal and bo prepared to return home about nine o'clock.
