All extra area of either luwn or garden in excess of 5000 square feet adjoining or used in con Junction with any residence shall be charged at the rate of ten (10) cents per hundred square feet or frac tion thereof which rharne shall be payable June 1st, each year. If said amount Is not paid It shall be come delinquent and In case it Is not paid tho water for the balance of the year shall bo shut off not only upon the area In excess of G000 square feet, but also upon the resi dence to which It Is adjacent or ap purtenant. Quite n number of tho local motor cycle riders are very anxious to ride In the devil's saucer and "Cannon Hull" Bell has decided to have nn amateur night. Next on the bill was a talk from Hob Kuhl, which was the most 'interesting talk wo have had for some time, the subject being "How he supplies bis readers with current news, from all; parts of the world and Is able to, keep tho public posted on dally oc currences, through tho system of the Associated Press," of which Tho Mall Tribune Is n member. One thing that impressed tho writer most force fully, was Hob's frankness about the cost of this system, as most of our former speakers tried to Impurt to tho club how hard It whs to give good Bcrvlne and still show a profit. As r mat tor of fact, most of our cither speakers have lead us to be lieve their business always shows up In the "red." Hob is entitled to the medal. Tho aubject was brought up re garding tho members giving up one day a week in order that they might go out for a week end trip with tho Hoy Scouts. This was met with approval. Tengwald, local executive committeeman for the American he gion, request Ing that the Hotary dub go on record as Indorsing the move ment now on foot to raise funds for tho taking caro of orphans of the world war veterans, this being known as the American Legion En dowmcnt and Doernbachcr Hospital Maintenance Fund. Tho club wll llngly endorsed the movement and Is to appoint two members to aHslst In the drive, regardless of tho fact the Hotary club as a club, under their by-laws do not endorse nny movement of any kind, however in thin cae, they real hue tho value of this wonderful movement and worthy cause and gavo their full support Past President Hob Clancy, now president of the Chamber of Com morce called upon the members to donate their cars for the moving of the I. O. O. F. delegates from Ash land and return Wednesday p. m. This wus also heartily approved and supported by all members owning cars. Crose, member of the Medford city council, spent yesterday in Eugene, Inspecting the two new school houses here, and discussing school matters with Eugene officials and members of tho board here. Both the Itoose velt and the Wilson school houses wero thoroughly Inspected, and the visitors made notes on tho many fea tures of tho two structures. Tho city of Eugene Is fortunate to havo such excellent buildings, the visitors said, and was also lucky that satisfactory sites were found with no difficulty. At Medford tho selection of a school site was difficult nnd a large expense to the city. A new high school Is to be erected there soon. "Eugene can well bo proud of the new buildings." says O. II. Jones, clerk of this district, "for they nre already being studied by school of ficials from other districts as models'- Eugene Guard. program. Hetty Brown's thoroughly enjoyable The Shrine trek towards Klamath Falls begins Friday of this week, Hll alh Temple's ceremonial In that city to be held on Saturday, May 23. Sched ule of events includes business ses sion, 1:30 p. m.; parade, 2:30; first and third sections, 4:00; banquet, White Pelican Hotel, 6:00; second section, 7:30. The ceremonial program takes place at Scandinavian hall, Ninth and Walnut streets. Rooms for the patrol and officers of the temple have been reserved at the White Pelican. The executive committee, superintending affairs in general connected-with the ceremonial event, includes W. C. Van Kmun, Klamath Falls; T. H. Sompson, Ashland; Carl Tengwald, Medford; P. li. Herman, Grants Pass, A new departure at this ceremonial will be a drum and bugle corps, Klam ath Falls organization, supplementing the regular patrol contingent. Hoth of these organizations, including rank and file, include 40 men. The tem ple Is equipping them with brand new uniforms, preliminary to the trip to Los Angeles early in June. The Crater Lake Shrine club, of Klamath Falls, is attending to all the major details, in a local way, as apply ing to rarange meats. The ladies are not invited to attend this ceremonial, the wording of the in vitations being that "The temple has got to economize in order to send tho patrol to Los Angeles."
