Of special interest was the action

the division in thu Ashland UaptiHt
church. It may be recalled that an
ex -parte council wan held, which
went on record recognizing l-le Kroup
uppoHcd to the teachings of (hone
with Ilev. It. C. Milr.-r as pastor.
The nsHoclation, which is the highest
nuthorltative body in the Haptist
iiomlnutlon ratified the findings of
the council thereby placing the group
led by Ho v. Mr. Miller outulde the
IlRptlut denoni Ina t lun. It uIho with
drew the hand of fellowship from
I lev. n. C. Miller, thereby depOHing
him from the ilaptiut ministry.
It now remains for the civil courts
in determine to whom the property
belongs. The denomination has de
creed It belongH to the smaller group
and doubtless the courtH will enforce
the will of thu Haptist denomina
tion. This church trouble came
ubout from the divine healing teach
ings of Aim. Md'herson.

clubs met at the Community Jlall
in Koguo Itiver. The ladies of the
Chic Improvement club served din
ner to about 150 ladies. In the
afternoon a nice program was given
In the auditorium of the school
house to a large ciowd.
Sunday was a lovely day and the
people who attended the I. O. O. K.
picnic enjoyed the day spent In the
park. Thin day, April 2(ith, was held!
in memory of thu founding of the
order, the 1 01 th anniversary. The !

t ing in the hall at o oi.:o k and j
! elected the new officers for the next

the association furnishing Ice cream
and coffee. Another picnic is being

Wo uro sorry to report the death
of Mr. Overton, who passed oway
at his home here Saturday after
noon of plural pneumonia. Mr.
Overton and family had only re
cently came hero and bought a lot
and built them a homo. The re
imiins were shipped to his old home
for burial. The sympathy of all uro
with the widow and daughter.

baseball were victorious in u, game
at I'rovolt Sunday afternoon.

White are very ill with the flu and

is their nurse. Their friends all
hope for their speedy recovery.
A game of baseball which created
much Interest was the one between
Sams Valley and Rogue River girls.
On Thursday a game was played at
Oold Kill and the Rogue River girls
won by a very small score, but
Sams Valley did not seem satisfied,
so asked for another game to be
played. Friday afternoon the sec
ond . game was played and Rogue
River won by 3 points, proving to
all t h ey we re t h e w i n n e r s. We a re
proud of our girls' baseball team.
Lesley Zappe of Chicago is pay
ing his old Ti lends, Fred Dingier
and family a visit. .
Mrs. M. R. RUss leh Mondny night
for Juliaetta. Idaho to spend the
summer with her daughter, Mrs.
Ifatllp ffarris. She will stop while
en route at Sdo, und visit her sis
ter. Mrs. W. S. Carpenter and other
relatives.
Karl Scott was a business visitor'
at Jacksonville Tuesday morning. !
