Something unusual in the line of
carnivals is to be fi-a lured at the
Medford hlKh school Friday evening,
and Is put on by tho various organi
sations and classes of tho school. The
High-sounding title of "M. II. H.
Sizzle" has been- Riven to the com
bined shows and there promises to
ba something besides "hot-dog.s" that
will do tho sizzling.
ryThe Dramatic club Is putting on a
;ono-act play entitled "Thursday
NJght." This Isio start tho evening's
entertainment at 8 o'clock after which
the other organizations will run their
shows in competition with each other.

Mayor Alenderfer and liob IJoyl,
secretary of the chamber of com
merce, were guests of the club.' After
several songs, the Lions were seated,
and durlnir the course of tho lunch
eon Mayor Alenderfer was called
unon for a brief talk, which was
enioved bv all present. Mayor Alen
derfer stated that Medford had
pletuy of room for good clubs of
tho dame principles and high stand
ing1 as the Lions, and, that at thin
time Medford Is undergoing a criti
cal period In Us life. The things
wheh we do and act upon within the
next few months will determine, to
a great extent, the future of our city,
wild tho mayor.
Mr. Hoy I. secretary of the cham
ber of commerce, requested that the
Lions club, along with the other
clubs of our city, support the cham
ber of commerce to tho greatest ex
tent possible, to lend constructive
criticism to tho board of directors
and secretary and to aid In every
way possible to make tho Chamber
of C'ommerco a greater organization
for the upbuilding of Medford and
vicinity.
O. L. Davidson gave a brief synop
sis on tho history of the Lions club,
which was also enjoyed by all pres
ent. Lion . Davidson brought out,
in an explicit way, the true meaning
of Lion in in, stating that Its history
had been a club of business men
who dared to do things.

Dunsmulr, Cal., Saturday night whon
that ci'y obtains a charter.
Tho Ashland Tost of the American
Log! on at a special meeting last night
at the Armory decided to sponsor a
movement for thf Installation of a
uniform street flag decoration plan,
which will mean that on special occa
sions, such as the Fourth of July,
Memorial Day, Armistice Day and

According to a report from E.' R.
Hogers, the forest ranger at Itocky
Point, twenty-three Inches of snow
fell at the Lake of the Woods last
Monday morning and the lake raised
twelve Inches in thirty hours. There
are also thirty inches of snow in places
in the road from tho Klamath side.
