"Jerry" Je rome auctioned off the boxes, that each girl had brought, to the boys of tho school and all ate their luncheon together in the assembly room. Fifty cents was the largest bid allowed and the sum of $17.50 was raised, which Is probably one of the reasons of Miss Edwards coming off with the first prize of the contest. Steel, federal game warden! for the states of Washington and Ore gon was in Bedford Tuesday'and Wed nesday attending to the release of, about two hundred duclrs and geese from the cold storage plants, left there by Medford sportsmen, contrary to the gime and storage laws of the country. This game was sent to the poor farm and other institutions in the valley to be used for the good of the inmates. It is the opinion of Warden Steel that no further action will he taken by the government on the case as this is the first time that anything of the kind has ever happened in this part of the country, and the law may not have been properly understood. The con fiscating of the game will act as suffi cient warning to any further offenders and the matter will probably be drop ped. - Colonel W.
