Mr. Struthers was born April 20. 139 In Canada, where he lived with his parents for ten years. After leaving Canada he went to Wisconsin where he worked in the lumber busi ness until twenty-one years old. June 3rd, 1801, he enlisted as- Pri vate under Capt. Henry Brooks, Com pany c, 4th regiment of Wisconsin cavalry. He served in the army until July 9, 1804, when he was honorably discharged at New Orleans, . La. After leaving there In 1865 ho re turned to Wisconsin where he was married to his life time comrade .Mary Bisck, who is still living. They lived there only about 18 months when they went to Minnesota and took up a homestead and made it hoir homc for seven years. In 1872 they moved to Audbon Co. Iowa, where they farmed Until about 1S90 when they moved to Fort Collins, Colorado, to make their home until 1910 when they came to Vale, Oregon for two years, then to Grants Puss for five years whore deceased w-as a member of (1.
