C. Joy, president of, tho Jackson County Farm Bureau, has been chosen the chairman of the general assembly meetings which will be held at the beginning and ending of the agricul tural economic conference that will be hold in Jackson county .on Febru ary 18, 19 and 20. The executive committee has ar ranged for the publicity that will be given to this important conference and have appointed citizens in; .the various communities of the county who will act us publicity and atten dance committees In their particular districts. Both farmers and business men re siding in Josephine county will be in vited to attend tho conference In order that a coordination of the agricultural program of the two counties may bo secured. A meeting of the executive commit tee was held yesterday at Ashland and the detailed instructions to be given to the various group chairman was decided upon. The agricultural program adopted for Oregon at Cor vallis will be the basis of the discus sions for each group to which will be added questions affecting the particu lar group interest as found in Jackson county. Some of the group meetings will be held in the public library, tho Hotel Medfora and other meeting places that will bo arranged for. Every far mer is asked to attend as many of tho conference group meetings as possi ble. The opening conference meeting will be held on Monday afternoon, Feb. 18th at 1:15. This will last about ono hour after which tho 'farmers will be directed to the places where the group meetings in which they are in- follow inc mnrnf nira thn tzrniin moot - ! ings will be held at ten o'clock and the final conference gathering of all groups will be held on Wednesday afternoon. Members of the Medford chamber of commerce interested in the growth and development of Jackson county will find an opportunity of gaining a better understanding of how this pros perity can be secured by attending the membership meeting in the basement of the Hotel Medford a,t 8 o'clock to night. t The farmer and the business' man is the subject of a talk by C. C. Chap man of Portland. This is very com prehensive analysis of the conference that was held at the Oregon Agricul tural college recently and every busi ness man should get his version of the subject in order that a better understanding may be had of what tho agricultural economic conference in Jackson county will mean to the farmers as well as to the business in terests of the county. C. C. Chapman is no strnuger in southern Oregon. Every constructive development of the state has been his hobby and during hlH past twenty years residence he has visited every part of the state and knows the prob lems of Its people. The women members of tho cham ber are expected to be 'present. No dinner will be served in connction with this meeting.
