ot Agriculture at Portland, from re
porters In various counties of Oregon.

1 It will be observed that the Oregon
values on Jan. 1, 1924, are less than
on Jan. 1, 1923, by 2.3 per cent, and
less than the high mark of 1920, by
'36.2 per cent.
The United States values show a
shrinkage during the year 1923, of 5.1
per cent, and a decline from the 1920
'values of 39.3 per cent.
In the state a decrease is indicated
In numbers of horses, mules and beef
'cattle, And an increase In milk cows,
sheep and swine. It la very probable
that the increase in milk cows would
have been ' considerably more had
dairy farm labor been available at
lower wages,
