There are solutions for these prob lems, and In order to carry them to successful conclusions they must be understood and be supported by the business men as well as the farmers. Full details of the plan to be presented to the citizens of Jackson county will . :e explained and be open for discus sion at the meeting- tomorrow. . The farmer and the business man will be the topic of an address by C. C. Chapman of Portland. . The citizens of Jackson county who attended the Corvallls conference were called together by the officers of the Medford Chamber of Commerce and the general plan of the conference was ocnsldered which resulted In the se lection of an executive committee who will have supervision of Instructions' to group chairmen, publicity and housing accommodations. " Those nam ed on the executive committee are B. E. Harder; C. C. Gate, H. L. Walther, A C. Joy and John H. Fuller. Those named as group chairmen are: Farm crops, Victor Bursell; dairying, Ralph Billings; poultry, W. J.. War ner; horticulture, .Rarry Rosenberg; land settlement, Harry Walther; live-, stock, Miles Cantrall; club work, Mrs. Susanne Homes Carter; home demon stration, Miss Alice Hanley. Editor Edgar Piper Sends Regrets to The Lincoln Club Soft drink dispensers of southern Oregon were the principal witnesses at the trial of the American Soda Fountain company against the Med ford Grocery company, for payment of In the neighborhood of $4400, for de livery of syrups used In the making of summer drinks. The case Is the first on' the docket at the recessed term of court, which which opened Monday. The plaintiff Is represented by Attor neys Boggs and Flaegel, and the de fense by Attorneys Neff and Kelley. A previous trial of the action resulted In a verdict by a jury tor the defense in the sum of $250, a new trial being granted. The soft drink dispensers corrob erated the contention of the defense, that the goods were Inferior In quality, the proprietor of the Blue Bird confec tionery In Klamath Falls, saying that one of his customers, served with a drink, In which lemon Juice was used, remarked while sipping It, "this is a rotten drink." Others also said things similar, so the Blue Bird proprietor went down in the cellar and Investi gated, and threw some out, and sent some back for credit on account. Grants Pass and ABhland business men also testified on the same subject. The grocery firm also alleges that the goodV'were ordered for early de livery, but 'did not arrive till summer. The original price was $5894.25, pay able one-half on delivery and one-half In sixty dayB. The plaintiff Is a Bos ton, Mass., firm. The case Is expected to last two or three days. The court requested that all attor neys having cases pending at this ses sion of court report. In order to rear range the docket. Out of 44 jurors called on the spe cial ventlre for the recessed term of court, beginning yesterday, 30 wore ac cepted.
