X-ray treatment is effec tive in many cases of simple enlarge ment of the tonsils, as in children, but unsuccessful in the treatment of in fected or suppurating tonsils. Various kinds of skin in flammation redmatiUs are more likely to occur in cold weather. I do not know what your trouble may be. So called winter itch (pru ruins), which has no similarity to ordinary itch (scabies), seems to be due to di minished excretion of sebum (skin ' oil) in cold weather and to the unwise removal of what little oil the skin excretes by too much bathing.
