OttF.COX, BRINGING COTTAGE GROVE, Ore., Jan. 12 (Special) Ralph Hand, local wrest ler, won his handicap match Thurs day with Gus Schneidau of Med ford, who weighed In at 190, while Iand topped the scales at ICO. A match had been advertised between Hand and Bob Rylund of Minneapo lis, who was defeated In Portland a few days go by Ted Thye and can celled his match here because of in juries sustained. While the fans felt the match would be a fizzle, the Med ford man showed up in good form and Hand, being on his mettle, be cause of the great disadvantage at which ho was working, put in all the steam he had. He was too light for success with any of tho body holds, from which Schneidau was able to extricate himself because of his greater weight and brawn, but when Hand applied the toe hold, with which he has won bo many matches, he had the giant at his mercy. Schneidau took the first fall in 20 minutes and Hand the second in 30 minutes. Schneidau had agreed to throw Hand ! twice In 90 minutes, Hand to get) no fall. Mike Mosby refereed.
