Root, to be assistant superinten dent of the Admiral lino of passenger and freight steamships which ply be tween Seattle and the ports of China, Japan and the Philippines. The young man has been in the service of the Admiral line for the past two years, and much of that time as manager of the Seattle port of that line, which position he retains along with . the assistant auperintendency.
