At this time tho chamber of commerce is again meeting with tho company to view tho achievements of tho past year. Open house will bo held at that . time and all nre Invited.: There will bo a special program given by tho company and may be an impromptu danco given after tho cntorUilnmont. There has been a largo crew work ing on tho Chautauqua building for tho past wock removing all traces of old sawdust, dirt and paper. This will put tho building In very good con dition for tho Winter Fair, which be gins Wednesday, Doc. 6. The prem ium lists are all made out and every thing is in readiness for tho fair. Four evening programs nro in pre paration: Wednesday evening will bo occupied by tho Women's Civic club, Thursday by the 484th company, Fri day by tho Ashland high school and Saturday will be carnival night. The Xitnlans havo charge of this last night and many surprises have been- prom ised so it is anticipated that this will bo a very oxcellent program. Charles 8. Browstor the popular poultry Judge will bo in Ashland to judge the poul try and Hal B. Osborn will bo here to "judge tho rabbits. Both men nro from Portland and nro very experi enced in thiB lino of work. Tho Klwanls club will ontorlnln tho Ashlund football toain at lunch Tues day noon. On account of pluns for other feeds to bo given to tho team aftor tho season closes, the Klwanls club decided to give theirs oarller. This club has boon with all tho other organizations in tho city In giving the Ashland high school its hearty sup port in athletics and tho school is much indebted to these different or ganizations for their kindness and generosity. Many dancos havo heon planned for tho near futuro nmong which is the Elks Thanksgiving ball which will bo given Wednesday night nncl tho Llthlan ball, which wlir bo given Thursday night.
