Tho church waa not able to tako caro of tho groat throngs desiring to participate In tho dedicatory sorvlceB. Tho day begun with a largely Increased attendance in tho Sunday school. All clnmoa showed a marked increase. Tho charming and beautiful Primary as sembly room was filled with happy chlldron, while tho Golden Link clasa hud to use tho church parlors to care for thoir numbers. Aslilo from tho two adult classes, who prefer tho first floor for thoir work, every class in the school hud a separato class room, and two other rooms can bo utilized for additional classes. No doubt many will be attracted to tho fino facilities' for class work, also tho unui.ua! so clul and recreational opportunities which come to all I" the school. Tho young peoplo aro enthused over tho groat recreational room, which will bo tho center of their so cial llfo to o large degree. Few churches havo anything to compare with what is found In this church. The church wua beautifully deoo rnted, and tho charm and harmony of color scheme of tho fine auditorium with tho Bplondid music of tho choir, and the rich tones of tho now pipe organ will contribute to produce a worshipful atmosphoro. Beautiful twelvo-pago dedicatory programs wore given to nil who at tended tho services. A splendid cut of tho new church faced the first lingo and a cut of tho pastor, Hov. V. H. Leach, another pogo with a full de scription of tho organ and respon sive services, and a completo list of tho commlttoos. Dr. John Snnpo of Oakland, Cal., delivered two great nnd inspiring HirmonB, which pleased nnd delight ed all who Mad tho pleasuro of hear ing them. Dr. Snape has a pleasing personality and entered Into tho Borvlcos of thn day In such a way as to win all. The church offlululs were much . pleased with his Borvlcos rendered. 'Mrs. Mnapo accompanied him. They re turned by car this morning. . Mr. Wm. Davla In a formal way present ed the keys of tho church to the board of trustees, and Mr. Aubrey O. Smith accepted thorn for the church In a fitting wny. Tho sorvice of dedication was rend by tho pastor nnd peoplo nnd Dr. O. C. Wright of Portland offered tho prayer of dedi cation. Mr. Scott prealded nt tho organ, while tho now strong church quartet Bang a very appropriate nnd fine aclectlon at the evening service. Mrs. Scott, nt the morning ser vice rendered a solo of great power. Tho Brand Jury for tho fall term of circuit court convened at Jacksonville thlH morning to take under considera tion a large number of cases, and with a new county prosecutor, Newton W. I3ordtn, who was only appointed last Saturday by Govornor IMerce to fill out the unexpired term of Itawletj Mooro, who voluntarily resigned tho office tho forepart1 of last week. Tho new prosecuting attorney nnd tho retiring official conferred all day Hunday at which time Mr. Moore ex plained tho ponding cases and gave alt information noccssary for the now official to become as much familiar ized with tho office as possible in a short time. Mr. Borden assumed the reins this morning and Mr, Moore retired to pri vate llfo nftor three years' service In tho offico of district attorney. Mr. Mooro will at once resume private legal practice nnd will retain his old offices In the Medford building. To enable tho new district attorney to get moro firmly in tho saddle Mr. Moore has volunteered to aid that of ficial In any way asked. In connection with Mr. Borden's appointment by Governor Pierce, tho Portland Journal in tho following Rpeclal dispatch from Salem, says: "The appointment will havo no ef fect on the position of O. C. Boggs as special prohibition prosecutor in that county, Governor Pierco explain ed this afternoon. Borden is said to havo promised his co-ioperation to Boggs in tho prosecution of liquor cases. Vance made an in teresting talk on "tho other end of the telephone," explaining the workings of the system, the dnttes of the opera tors, the relation of the public to the system, cost, e'c.,'. that was really as tonishing to tho average business man. He said the system at Medford has the largest jiumlrer of telephones in the state, according to population, 2517, and the third largest numerical ly, being exceeded by Portland and Salem. After spending an hour with the young ladies at tho other end of the telephone , and seeing them -work, there are 46 business men in Medford at least, who will never Bay again, when service seems slow, that the operator la either asleep at the switch or visiting with the other girls or doing fancy work.
