Miss Helen E. Adamson, daughter
of E. A., Adamson, Talent banker, and
Raymond E. Bndger, son of H. E.
Badger, of this city, were quietly unit
ed In marriage at the home of the
bride at 8 o'clock this morning. The
double 'ring ceremony was used, with
the Rev. S. J. Chaney officiating. The
ceremony was performed in a lovely
bower in a grove at the rear of the
Adamson residence. Mary Adamson,
sister of the bride acted as flower girl
while Rep. Theodore P. Cramer, Jr.,
of Grants Pass, was best man. Cramer
and Badger are fraternity brothers
from the Oregon Agricultural college,
both belonging to Landa Chi Alpha.
Following the wedding a breakfast
was served, the young couple leaving

PANAMA, May 11. Ily Associated
Press). In a memorandum submitted
to Secretary of War Weeks, the gov
ernment of Panama asserts the United
States should definitely declure that
It now holds all land necessary for
the protection of the waterway, there
by affording a Bufegimrd against ex
propriation which might eventually
result in the absorption of tho entire
republic.
The memorandum sets forth Pana
ma's position with regard to several
points in her relations with the Unit
ed States. It is necessary, the com
munication says, that Panama should
have means of crossing the canal with
out hindrance. Inasmuch as certuln
Panama railroads may bo usod by the
American government for strategical
purposes the note Bays tho bridges on
such highways should be of heavy con
struction and suggests that tho United
States pay for such Improvements.

SEATTLE, May 11. Tho body of
tho Rev. Galon Wood, 71, retired min
ister of the , Christian (disciples of
Christ) church, was found floating In
Elliott Bay hore today by a harbor
tugboat. Mr. Wood, who was acting
lis a night watchman, is believed to
hnvo been stricken suddenly while
standing on n pier of the Washington
Tug and Harge company.
Mr. Wood for many years was a
missionary In Montana, Alaska and
Washington and was wldoly known in
church circles of the Pacific northwest
up to the time of his retirement sev
eral years ago.
