Wash., where he had been making ar
rangements for Installing the frost
season service there. It was announced
that Mr. Young, who Is In personal
charge of the service here this season,

Rosoburg.. Forest Supervisor 'Neal
has roturned from a trip of inspection
over the rond, a large part of which
was built last yoar, and reports that
considerable work is necessary on the
soctlon, as grades have settled and
trees have fallon across . the road.

from Klamath Ralls reports every
thing suffering for the need of rain.
The Durant Corporation has offered
for sale stock In the Hayes-Hunt Body
Corporation, a subsidiary of the Dur
ant company, under the same sort of a
contract which he made for the Fisher
Body company and General Motors.
Mr. Durant offered, a few weeks ago,
one hundred million dollars for the
Fisher Body corporation, which the
General Motors refused, evidently be
cause they considered it worth more.
As the Durant Corporation is now
third in production and Is growing
rapidly, it is very likely that history
will repeat Itself in this case. Anyone

At the Ladles' Auxiliary of the
American Legion meeting this week
at the American Legion hall six new
members were added to the roll. A
committee was appointed to co-oner-ate
with the legion committee for
Memorial day. After the business
meeting and initiation the auxiliary
was invited into the legion's meeting
room. Many affairs of Interest to
both bodies were discussed. At the
close of the joint meeting refresh
ments were served by the committee
whose chairman was Mrs. Elmer Wil
son. The tables were tastefully ar
ranged and decorated with the, sea
son's first wild flowers, lamb tongues.
