"Sherlock Holmes" At the Page Nobody noeds to he told much about tho picture at tho Pngo this week. You know Its title Is "Sherlock Holmes," and that is sufficient data to send you In soarch of a ticket. Of course, it adds a great thrill to know that John Barrymoro Is the star. But the story Hsolf needs no publicizing. Tho dotectlvo story has boon a fnv orlto form of light lltornturo for sev eral generations. Kdgnr Allan Poo was ono of tho early masters of a hlghor class of detective literature. His short stories dealing with the de tection of crlmo wore tho fororunnor of Sherlock Holmes In deductlvo rea soning. Locoq, tho detoctlve employed by the French novelist Gnbortau, prob ably stands next to Sherlock Holmes in popularity. Doyle wrote scores of short stories about Shorlock Holmes and then killed him off. Tho great dotectlve won such a hold over roadors of crlmo and mystery stories and tho domnnd for more stories nbout him was so great nnd widespread that Sir Arthur was com pellod to reeuscltnto him and write further adventures of the marvelous detoctlve. This volume of deliveries to actual owners is entirely un precedented for this time of the year It has taxed the manufacturing ability of the Ford plants working at full capacity It indicates a volume of business during the rapidly ap proaching months of "heavy demand" which will be far beyond the maximum production schedule which the Ford Motor Company has set And that means a Ford shortage even more acute than the one which existed last Spring and Summer. Dealers' stocks all over the country are low there are no reserves to draw upon to meet the demands for delivery There is no way in which dealer reserves can be built up, as deliveries have been made to customers as fast as Cars could be manufactured since last April. The only way you can protect your desire to obtain prompt delivery of a Ford even at this time is to place your order immediately. This emphasizes more strongly than anything we could possibly say the necessity of your making prompt arrangements with a Ford Dealer for the luting of your order, particularly if you are con templating the purchase of a Ford Car or Truck for use this Spring or Summer. We believe you are entitled to know these facts as they actually exist. T ' i - Ford Motor Company Detroit, Michigan C. E. Gates Auto Co.
