I he Gold Diggers," Avery Hop-
wood's comedy, produced by David
Ilelasco, will be presented at the Vin
ing theatre, Ashland, tonight. The
company is making its first tour to the
west, the runs of two years in New
York and a season in Chicago having
precluded earlier Introduction of the
play to audiences in other cities.
Mr. Ilelasco lias assembled a large
company of the first order for the
presentation of tho play and it will be
precisely the same fashion as when it
was on view in New York nnd in Chi
cago. The leading role Is in the hands

they produce: therefore, they can
rightly be expected to donate pro
portionately. Kadlo broadcasting, on
the other hand, donates its services
free of charge.
To meet this situation, our sug
gestion is that each broadcaster ap
peal to tho local composers In his
district, to have them submit their
writings to tho broadcaster who will
pass same to a board of critics ami
if approved by this board, have tfie.
