Persis tent offerings by professional inter ests caused the bull faction to aban don its initial effort with the result that a wave of heaviness spread., ovor ' the list in today's brief stock market i session. Boar tradors apparently worked on tho theory that certain 'Specialties had been pushed up to too prominent a place to tho exclu sion of recognized leaders and that these stocks had over-discounted the , expected benfits from tho improve ment in the industrial section. -'- Industrial stocks, however, success fully swam neainst -tho downward current, New York Airbrake, l'ostum Cereal and Air Reduction advancing one to three points to now hiRh records, while Pan-American and Mexican Petroleum issues showed gains of one to two and a half points.
