Floyd D. Young, frost specialist of
Los Angeles, arrived this afternoon
for a two days stay. While here he
will check over data on the frost as It
affects the fruit industry in the Roguo
River, valley. This , data will later be
used in it booklet to be published this
fall on "Frost and Prevention" which
will be of great value to orchardists
for the coming winter and spring.

made an arrest yesterday of Herbert
Thomas, charged with operating a
truck without a license. Thomas
pleaded guilty and was fined $15.
Another arrest of two days ago was on
a charge of speeding, Francis Winter
pleading guilty to the charge and was
fined $15. Herb Grey was also arrest
ed on the charge of exceeding the
sliced limit,' by Constable Sandefer and
was fined the same amount.

After a three weeks absence Miss
Florence Pool, county home demon
strator returned yesterday after at
tending the National Home Economics
convention at Corvallls and then went
on to Ranler park for a week. Follow
ing this Miss Poole attended the mil
linery conference at Corvallls. This
afternoon Miss Poole arranged a meet
ing at the Valley View community hall
and gave an interesting talk on "Cor
rective Nutrition." Miss Poole was
sent a case ot commercial pectin,
"Certo," from the Douglas Packing
