The Conference of Bar Association delegates which Includes only the ac credited delegates from the various bar associations of the nation, open ed its sessions, as did the Section on Legal Education, the Judicial section. the section on Puldic Utility Law and the section on Criminal Law. Chief Justice Wllilani Howard Taft was scheduled as the chief Speaker before; the Judicial section, which Includes all of the judges of the United States. Judge Clarence M. Goodwin, of Chicago, presided at the sessions of the Bar Association delegates. Great Interest centered in the ses sions of the Section on Public Util ity Law, Edwin O. Egerton, former railroad, commissioner of California; Nathaniel T. Guernsey of New York, Hugh Gordon, attorney for the Cali fornia railroad commission, and Franklin T. Griffith of Oregon, wre among the experts on the program for addresses, , Dr. John I. arson, Inventor of the "He detector,", was to explain and demonstrate his apparatus for the Criminal Law section, and Chief of Police August Vollmer, originator of the "scientific cop," was to speak on "Policemen.", Tho Indetermlnato sen tence was to be discussed by this body. Prof. A. M. KIdd, of the Uni versity of California Law school, was to load this discussion. Thl sessions of the national at tornojo-gt neral continued today. All Is In readiness for the formal opening' tomorrow of the American Bar Association convention, when the many specialized meetings which have preceded , the main convention .will come to on end, and the general sessions open. . Mrs. Nlch oline JacobBon Nelson, wife of Senator Nelson of Minnesota, died early today after a long Illness. She was a nntlvc of Norway and married Senator Nelson ln 1868. - They have a daughter, who, with Senator Nelson will leave tomor row for :the funeral at Alexandria, Minn., the Nelson residence.
