Many believe that this is the largest number ever in attendance at a single event in this city, although in the past the famous rodeos attracted big crowds. Bo that as it may, the atten dance was a record breaker for any event ever held In southern Oregon. How many cars It would be Impossible even to conjecture, but it can scarcely be taken as an - exaggeration to say that there were six thousand automoi biles in the city and that they carried an average of four persons. 'Die larKe crowd in atten dance enjoyed the numerous round up events. The bucking horse contest was won by Curl Gibson, riding Cham paign; Loren Karlow on Step and u Hall won second money and Lee Johnson on Squaw won third prize. : The bucking bull contest was won by "Heavy" Austin, who rode Snorter and Lloyd Damon won second money on Ited. Clarence Cann of Lake Creek gave several classy exhibitions of buckiiiK horse and bull riding. Mr. Cann for merly rode in many round-ups in Montana and Is a professioner buekj ing horse rider. Mis exhibition wis very elassy. In the riding races, J. W. Antic's entry, with Damon up, won first money, and Von dor .Hellen's entry, with Allen up, won second. There were 8 horses entered. In the evening the celebration was concluded with a big dance in Hie new Lake Creek community hull, which was enjoyed by over 100 couples from all over the valley. This was the opening dance in the Lake Creek hall, and the music furnished by the Crescent orchestra was much enjoyed. Lake Creek: has one of the best floors In the county and is said to be one of the easiest to dance on, being- octagonal In shape with an S0 foot width.
