BLANKEN'SHIP ' Barnett ' J
Blankenshlp, a resident of Medford
for the past 10 years, passed away at
his home, 1522 Bryant street, early
this morning at the age of 76 years,
8 months, 2 days. ( Death came as a
result of heart trouble.
Deceased was born at Sedalia, Mo.,
in 1845, and was married at the age
of 20 years to Mary E. Burkles.of
Benton county. Mo. To this union
were born nine children, five of
whom survive. Mrs. Blankenshlp
passed away in 1S98 and in 1902 he
was married to. Mrs. Flossie Hooper
of Adna, Wash., who survives him.
Mr. Blankenshlp served In the
Civil war as a private in 'Company
I, 18th Iowa infantry.
He Is survived by the following
children: Wm. A., and H. C. Blank
Ipshlp and Mrs. Ora E. Stevenson. of
Randle, Wash. Eva E. Kuhnhanscn,
Glenwood, Wash., and Albert, C.

of training with the Oregon National
Guard at Camp Lewis.
It was pronounced by the local of

campments ever held by the Oregon
National Guard. From the time they
left home until the day of, their re
turn there was no accident nor illness
in. the ranks of the company, beyond
Captain . Canaday being tied up a
week with a sprained leg' The sprain
occurred some time before the com
mand loft Medford. but the constant
marching and exercise In camp caus
ed tho leg to become worse and bwoI
len, laying the officer up until last
Sunday.
