The canal makes It pos sible to thoroughly irrigate the S700 acres of land included in the district and is carrying a head of water from Lake Creek to Central Point, follow ing the contour of the foothills ou both sides of the valley. The final dry gaps in the canal were filled with water yesterday. May 14 th. one day prior to the date pre dicted by Chief Engineer Cowgill. The canal is not yet carrying a full head of water as considerable rnU'UQt of puddling work is necessary to Beal leaks which appear as the car.al is fired. However work la pro gressing rapidly with a number of crews engaged and a full head is ex pected in the near future.
