Lady Elks In the afternoon and a
general reception Saturday night.
Sunday and Monday will be spent
in Medford and Ashland. .It is prob
able that a special tralu will be run
from Grants Pass for Monday night's
reception and dance at Ashand.

It is reported by local sportsmen
that the fish ladders at Gold Ray dam
have been closed and that fish are now
unable to get past the dam into the
upper reaches of the river. This has
been done because high water washed
out the racks at the Elk Creek hatch
ery and the hatchery men do not wish
to allow the fish to pass the hatchery
on their way up the river before the
eggs are taken from them. It is ex
pected that it will be three weeks be
fore the racks are reinstalled at th
hatchery and the fish ladders at Gold
Ray opened. ,
