Everybody Should Attend Easter Servicers in One of
the Medford Churches
Easter and the Passover
Althougn the date of Easter had been
settled with the particular intention of pre-
venting it from ever occurrlug on the came
day as the Jewish Passover, the Nicean de
cree fai'ied to prevent this entirely. Since
1800 Easter and the Passover have been ob
served together on April 12, in 1806, 1823
and 1903. Also they will occur together on
Arril 1, 1923: AfHI 17, 1927, and April 9.
19 SI. However, the Passover usually falls
on the week before Easter. It never conies
before March 26 nor later than April 23.
Out of a friendly, brotherly heart the Church
is asking you to attend Divine worship today.

THE MEANING OF EASTER
The moaning of Easter and its idchnikc of joy,
the revival of hope and 'the bouynnt renewal of our

By an irresistible human impulse, we seek out
our finest and most fashionable raiment, and that
impulse is parallel to the natural proces.se in t'he
world about us. If the earth can put off her drab
habiliments of winter and forget the somber, sun
less hours, so can the children of earth. In every
life today there may be a resurrection from t,he
dead. In every life old thinjfH may be dienrded. lie
has not caught the spirit of the fenUl celebration
who is not Klirred to a renewal and U nt moved to
forvnke the darkum and give welcome to thu light.
It is more than a church feativul. 15eliever and
unbeliever together share the influences of the day.
In each of us, whatever creed we formally profess
there dwells the feeling that the day betokens. It
is the assurance that life is worth the living ami that
love can never lose its own, Vc stand today not nt
the brink of a tomb, but on the threshold of this
eternal life and of this love immortal. '
