One result has been that deaths from tuberculosis in Framingham during the three or four years that the experiment has been in progress have dropped from the rate or 121 per 100,000 to 40. During 1920 and 1921 the company lianed, and pledged itself to loan J68. I'SO.OUO on new dwellings and apart ment houses providing homes for 17,741 families. In 1921 the death rate among indus trial policy-holders reached its lowest point 31 per cent lower than it was ten years previous. The rate from typhoid fever decreased 71 per cent; from tuberculosis, 49 per cent; from Itright's disease, nearly 30 per cent, and from infectious diseases of chil dren nearly 37 per cent. The records kept by the company show thut( com pared with 1911. there were. In 1921. oo.eoo fewer deaths than there would have been if the 1911 death rate had prevailed.
