An Increase of more than 85,000 communicants of the Presbyterian church of tho United States of America during 1921 waa announced here by Dr. Lewis Seymour Mudge, of Philadelphia, Tenn., stated clerk of tho church. Dr. Mudge was In Doa Moines making arrangements for the annual general assembly of the denomination to bo held 'here begin ning May 18 and continuing for ten days. Dr. Mudge announced that the num ber of communicants of the church now exceeds 1,700,000. This, ho an nounced, la a gain of more than 83,000 over last yenr.
