i The first mail from the east since
last Saturday arrived in the city yes
terday and was delivered today. There
was quite an accumulation of first
class and parcel post mail, and the
postoffiee this morning bore a shortly
hefore Christmas time appearance.
The eastern mail was delayed and
held up by the bad storm conditions
around Portland and eastern Oregon.
It seemed like Monday today to most
folks, and in addition many had the
usual after holiday grouch and such a
dislike, for turkey or chicken and the
trimmings that Ihey vowed never to
taste the stuff again.
