Miss Knna Koberts was absent from school Tuesday on the account of the death of her grandmother, Mrs. llally of Missouri Flat. Joe Seyfcrth spent Saturday in Grants Pass. We are very glad to hear that George Cougle has Improved enough to leave tho hospital at Grants Puss. He attended the A. V. H. S. two years ago and is well known in this vicin ity. Providing we could have a larger attendance so that she could take up more demon strating. Some people of Hrownshoro have been complaining about the school board spending money to buy new '-'lobes and maps. They said if the mans and globes they used when thev went to school, which was 15 or 20 years ago, were good enough for them they ought to be good enough for us. Perry and nor husband's mother, Mrs. K. M. Stewart drove to Medford. Mrs. Stewart is living with one of her daughters, Mrs. J. W. (Irover In Medford and has been out here visiting wr:ii her son, Mr. Win. Perry and some of her old friends and neighbors, for during the life of her second husband they resided here. Mr. Stoddard of Hutte Falls, one of the prominent business men of the place, who hud been out to Jackson ville on jury duty, was one of the pas sengers on the Hutte Fulls stage on his way home. There were three other passengers on the same stage, but I did not learn their names on destina tion. Mr. and Mrs. I,. C. Cnvally of Seattle a traveling man and his wife, who were here soliciting for the Camel cigarettes was here for dinner Satur iday. Miss Patricia llogau win is teaching in Iho Hutte creek district came out Saturday on tho Lake Creek stage and I went on to Medford on the Lewis Jitney. He re ports that the contractor expects to j finish up that job this week. i Among the diners at the Sunnysi le Sunday noon we-e Oeorge and Harry Lewis, the two brothers who bought tho Jonas farm, a part of which is inside of the Incorporated part of our town as when the promoters of the move to incorporate the town they just ran the lines so as to include those who they thought that they could induce to vote for the move, leaving out six families on the upper end of the town and four on the lower end, thus leaving out ten families and j that is the reason that only a part of I the farm is in the town proper. We also had Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Hiibba. one of the leading shoe dealers in Medford, and his brother, T. B. Huhbs and wife of Eugene, Ore., Eurl Ma thews and Charley Winkle. Our old HIble class teacher in the Sunday school, Mr. J. Each, who has been back east on a visit roturned last week and was on hand Sunday morn ing to take chargo of his class again. O. Heale of Hutte Falls came in for din ner and they. Mrs. Watkins and daugh ter Anna report that they had one of tho best times of their lives. Another one of our old anil highly respected citizens. (The reason I did not put the announcement in the proper place was that I did not know how to spell the reverend gentleman's name and waited until I could sec Mr. Clements to learn). Mr. and Mrs. John Long of Derby were here last Monday on business. Lcland Pettygrew, sou of Fred Pettygrew passed through here Mon day on his way to Medford to see a doctor. He had the misfortune to he thrown from a h'jrse and had his shoulder broken, a serious accident. Henry Gordon of Fort Klamath came in Monday night and spent the night with us. Ho came in to attend the funeral of his father-in-law, Mr. H. F. 0. Edmondson at Hutte Falls, hut had trouble with his machine and had to come here for repairs. His wifo was already at Rutte Falls. Mr. Gordon came back Tuesday night again to get more work done on his car, starting home this Wednesday morning.
