On the return trip the train will leave the uptown station at Ashland at 10:30 p. m. after the fireworks, will reach Medford at 11:15 p, m., and Grants Pass at 12:20 a. in. Jack Klelt. said-to -he a lialfbreed KMcklrut Indian, staged a gun battle with deputy sheriffs in Columbia val ley, near the Canadian border, early yesterday ufternoon. Walter Fag gett, a bystander, was slightly wound ed by one bullet , and another cut through his coat sleeve. Kielt, according to tho officers, was taken by surprise just after he hud crossed the boundary line with a sack of whiskey on his shoulder. He was arrested by two of the depn ties but wus not Beurchetl and as the trio were' passing along a narrow trail, Klelt got the drop on the depu ties and disarmed them but finally re turned their weapons after they had promised that they would not shoot him in the buck and ordered them to go in opposite directions. Later he encountered two other deputies, who engaged him in battle from behind u stump. It Is believed that Klelt escaped "without being in jured. .
