The Liberty llelles opened the Chau tauqua with a delightfully varied pro gram featuring vocal, instrumental and dramatic numbers all in charming array of modern and fanciful cos tumes. They were delighted with the reception accorded them by Med ford people and expressed n desire to re main a while Instead of hurrying on as the Chautauqua schedule demands of them. Dr. Miles won the praise of his aud ience with his human and heart-touching bits of descriptions and narratives of his interviews of famous people. The crowds for the first day were splendid and the plan of using the tabernacle at the close of tho revival service worked out without a hitch. Today the music and entertainment will be given by Klectra Piatt and Achllle Hragers, wizard entertainers. Miss Piatt alone would assure the suc cess of any company in her original songs and monologue. The address I tonight will be delivered by the ll-in. Henry T. Rainey, congressman Prom Illinois and ono of the outstanding fig- lures in Washington for. the lust IS I years.
