construction and erection of buildings
within the City of Medl'ord and declar
ing; an emergency.
THE CITY OF MEDFORD DOTH
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. It shall bo unlawful' for
any person, persons, firm, or corpora
tion, to erect, construct, or build nny
permanent dwelling house or other:
buildings within the corporate limits
of tho City of Medford without first
.having made written application lo
the city council lor permission to con
struct such dwelling house or other
building, and without having first re
ceived from the city council written
permission to construct or erect such
building or dwelling house. Such ap
plication must be signed by the per
son, firm or officer or agent, if a cor
poration, of such corporation, desiring
to erect or construct such building or
dwelling house, and shall show the
name of the, street and the lot or de
scription of the property upon which
the same is to be erected.
I' Section 2. All Ordinances or parts
of Ordinances In conflict herewith are
hereby repealed. .
. Section 3. ' Any person, firm or cot
noratlon who shall be found guilty of
(violating any oli the provisions of this
uruinance, or wno smut tan or neglect
to comply with any of such provisions,
shall, on conviction thereof, be fined
not less than fivo ($5.00) dollars nor
more than one hundred ($100.00) dol
lars for each offense, and ten ($10.00)
dollars for each day such person shall
continue in violation thereof.
Section 4. inasmuch as- there Is
likelihood that structures which will
Or which may Increase the danger of
lire In said city of Medford, may be
erected within said city, and Inasmuch
as It Is for such reason necessary for
the Immediate preservation of the
peace, health and safety of the city
that, this Ordinance should become im
mediately operative, an emergency is
hereby declared to exist, and this Or
dinance shall be In full force and ef
fect immediately nfter Its passage by
the city council and approval by the
Mayor.
