Considerable interest has been aroused amongst the automobile peo ple over the attempt of a Portland doc tor to break the record between Port land and San Francisco by the Buick Six coupe with 11 Hudson Speedster recently. Both Portland and San Fran cisco papers have given a lot of space to recording the effort of the Hudson which failed by a little over half an hour. Yesterday evening a Buick Six open car, bent on attempting the bet tering of tiie Buick Coupe's record reached the Valley Garage at 9:30 hav ing left San Francisco at 5:15 Sunday morning oil the first ferry across the bay. This car was about 20 minutes ahead of the coupe's record here and continued to Portland with high hopes of being still ahead In getting there. Tho much better condition of the roads at this season compared with last January would make the attempt to reduce the time comparatively easy but without dimming tho exploit of the Hulck coupe performance. This Buick passing lust night was a privately owned car and had reached .Medford with only one $10.00 fine against it for speeding. It's hard to find a car that lum tiie sustained speed of the Buick on the roud. 47 Included among the guests at the Holland are Miss Sarah It.
